The Mexico capital has a thriving arts and cultural scene (a whole town was declared a world heritage site) which offers some of the best cuisines of the Western Hemisphere. And Mexico City continues to stay affordable and strives to become safer. A varity of hotel options are available for travelers who want the comfort and convenience of home in large, crowded locations. Some say spending a month in town will give you more time in visiting the most popular sights of this area. Even after one week there is much more you should see.

Best months to visit
It's a good time to go to Mexico City from March to May, although the streets are very packed at this time of year. You get rewarded with gorgeous weather - particularly if winters are cold and summers rainy. You should prepare yourself for high elevation – Mexico City is approximately 8,382 feet above sea level — by drinking plenty of water. Another thing to remember: Mexican City air pollution is notoriously poor, so during days when pollution is highest, it is likely your mask is going to be worn and you may need to go indoors.

If you visit Mexico City on Sunday
If your planning on visiting Mexico City on a weekend, specifically on a Sunday your in luck. On Sunday's, Paseo de Reforma, the largest avenue in town will be shut down until late afternoon. It is a spectacular sight to see. On Sunday we were able to join local crowds on the Paseo. Activities include riding on wheeled cars, rollerskates, riding along with the locals. Other activities such as yoga and Zumba are available keeping you fit while traveling.

How many days in Mexico City do you need?
A week to visit Mexico City is ideal but 3 days could be enough as well. 3 days to visit Mexico City? It is possible but you will want to come back and explore more another time because there is so much to see and do. I recommend staying longer and maybe even visiting different areas of Mexico. I recommend visiting Puerto Vallarta or Cancun and enjoying the sandy beaches.

Mexican cultural heritage is created by mixing indigenous and Spanish tradition, food, music, religious and architectural. It's a place where old meets new in an unrivaled way.

The native language of Spanish in Mexico is universal in the country. In Mexico, there are still-vibrant indigenous cultures that have over 200 languages spoken.
